Goal Setting for Your Life

Setting goals is the best way to maintain and have the life you want. There are three main goals everyone should set for their lives: Personal, Finance and Career. Each one of those goals can make-up an entire life for a person. Those are the three main factors in everyone’s life to accomplish what you want to do in your life and for your life to grow. The goals should be set every year, whether they are short-term or long-term goals.

It is always good to take the last three months of a year to start thinking about and putting into place for the following year the goals you want to attain. Each year I set goals for my career, my finances and for my personal life. The key to setting goals and accomplishing those goals is to set something reasonable and attainable. That’s why you should take your time to really think about what you can really change and accomplish through the goals you set for yourself.

Career goals are usually long-term goals, because making changes to your career can not be something you can accomplish in three months. Career goals are: changing the career you are in, starting your own business or sometimes continuing your education to further you in your career you have now. These goals are one year, five years or ten years goals. Career goals are long-term goals because it takes time and patience to succeed in them, so when setting these goals, you really do need to take your time because these goals can be life changing goals.

Finance goals can be long or short-term goals. Your financial goals can be from saving money, putting yourself on a budget, investing money, paying off debt or saving for a major investment like buying a house. The great thing about finance goals is you can have short-term goals and long-term goals you have set at the same time. It’s also one of the goals you set for yourself that you can have a list of goals you want to attain and can be executed in a quick manner.

Personal goals are the hardest to set because that’s when you must look at yourself and really face some things you need to change in your life. Personal goals are: losing weight, changing some of your personality traits, ending a relationship in your life or stepping outside of your normal box to do something different in your life. These goals can be long-term or short-term goals, but some of the most challenging goals to accomplish.

So…my question is do you set goals for your life or do you just go through life without making any changes to have a better life?
