The Steps to Letting Go

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2018. Last year was a very hard year with all the killings and natural disasters, so we are so blessed to still be here for a New Year. Don’t take your blessings for granted and if there are things in your life that you are not happy about, you’re still here to make those changes for your life. A New Year is the perfect time to look at your life and decide what things you need to let go of.

Most people think letting go is simply waking up and saying that’s it…I’m through with this and I’m moving on. But…that’s not how you let go, especially major things like people, changing careers or even moving to a new city. There are steps you must put into place to let go. If you don’t go through the steps, most of the time you will not accomplish the goals you have set for yourself to make the changes for a better life. Letting go in life is not a whim, but a purpose to regroup your life to make it better and for you to be a happy in your life.

The first step of letting go is to stop and really evaluate your life to make the decision of what you do not want in your life anymore. The first month of a New Year is the perfect time to do that. Once you decide on what you want to let go of, your next step is to set a goal of when you want this to happen. You must give yourself a reasonably timeline to accomplish it. Your next step is to put a game plan into place to reach your goal and your last step is to do what you need to do to make it happen.

A New Year, a new start and the best time to really look at your life to face what’s not working for you. The only way you can have a great life is to let go of all things that are weighing you down and making you unhappy. There are four steps to letting go and once you put each one of those steps into place you have made the change in your life to have the best life you want and deserve.

So… my question is if you need to make changes in your life, why not start the New Year with your first change of deciding… I’m making a change for 2018.
